ASBESTOS MANAGEMENT
A copy of the CISD Asbestos Management Plan is on file in the Facilities Management office at 710 E Pecan St, Celina, TX 75009. Individual campus management plans are on file in each school administrative area. CISD employees licensed by the Texas Department of Health administer the CISD Management Plan. An individual asbestos management planner is assisted by a licensed asbestos inspector, asbestos project supervisors and asbestos workers. Six-month surveillance, three-year re-inspections and all response activities are conducted according to the Environmental Protection Agency rules 40 CFR. If you have questions about AHERA, a federally mandated program, please call the Facilities Management Department at (469) 742-9100.

PARENT RIGHTS AND OPTIONS
Texas law gives parents important rights in their child’s education. Under Education Code §26.001(d)(4), parents can access information about instructional materials, programs, and other school options. The TEA provides a form with all the details, and every district must make it available on their website.
PUBLIC INFORMATION REQUEST
Public information requests, sometimes called Open Records Requests, are handled by Celina ISD staff with assistance from our school district attorney, as needed. However, requests for student records by the student's parent or guardian are managed by the principal at the school campus. Board policy permits the principal to provide one copy of the student's educational record for the parent or guardian free of charge. Any additional copies will require copy charges per Board Policy GBA. Requests for Special Education records may be submitted to the Special Programs Department. If any part of a written request for student records includes information that might be deemed private under state or federal law, the written request will be sent to the Attorney General's Office for review.
As open records requests are submitted, CISD works to meet information requests in the order they are received and follows all State and Federal laws. By law, CISD has 10 business days to determine whether or not to seek an Attorney General's ruling regarding releasing of the information.
To request an open records request, please fill out this form.

STUDENT RECORDS REQUEST
Current Celina ISD students must obtain their transcripts, academic records, and other related documents directly from their current campus. Each school maintains records for currently enrolled students and can assist with requests or provide guidance on how to obtain specific documentation.
Important Information:
-
Per District policy, a student’s record is only available to those who have authorization from the student, their parent, or legal guardian if the student is under 18 years old.
-
If the student is 18 years of age or older, the student’s record may not be released to a parent, legal guardian, or third parties without the student’s written consent and photo identification.
-
Special Education Records or Special Programs (PreK–8th Grade): These records are retained by the District for five years from the student’s withdrawal or graduation date.
