ADDRESSING THE BOARD DURING A BOARD MEETING

Audience participation is limited to the the portion of the meeting designated to receive public comment in accordance with Policy BED (LOCAL). At all other times, during a Board meeting, the audience shall not enter into discussion or debate on matters being considered by the Board unless requested by the presiding officer. Public comment is limited to items on the agenda posted with notice of the meeting. To view upcoming and past meeting agendas, click here.

Individuals who wish to participate during the portion of the meeting designated for public comment shall sign up with the presiding officer or designee before the meeting begins and shall indicate the agenda item on which they wish to address the Board. Participation in public comment shall be limited to Celina ISD students and their parents, district employees, residents of the district, or owners of businesses located within the district.

All speakers will be customarily limited to no more than 3 minutes.

Hire and evaluate the superintendent
Approve the district’s budget
Establish goals and evaluate outcomes
Adopt and evaluate policies
Levy and collect taxes, and issue bonds
Order elections, canvass returns, declare results, and issue certificates of election as required by law.
Adhere to guidelines and policies mandated by the Texas Education Agency and the U.S. Department of Education

Celina ISD Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees consists of seven members who act as our district’s policy-making body. Trustees work with the Superintendent and staff to set the direction of the school district with the education and well-being of school children as its primary focus.

Board members are elected at-large by the citizens in CISD for three-year, staggered terms. They not only represent the public but also translate the needs of students into policies, goals, and strategies that reflect the standards and values of the community as a whole.

Celina ISD will educate students at the highest levels, empower them to succeed, develop their leadership potential, instill faith-based traditional values, and prepare them to become contributing members of society.
