Comfort Dogs

Comfort dogs are a beneficial support for students and staff, and facilitate healthy environments for learning and socialization. Comfort dogs on campus help students manage stress, process mental health concerns, and boost academic engagement. Other benefits include, but are not limited to:

  • lowers anxiety and anxious breathing

  • elevates a positive mood and / or energy

  • encourages greater use of language and social interaction

  • serves as a motivational tool and / or behavior incentive

  • builds rapport, relationships, and makes connections for students

All Celina ISD Comfort Dogs undergo health checks, maintain regular vaccines, and serve an educational purpose on campus. Employee responsible for the dog is required to maintain proper care, feeding, and handling of the animal. The principal or principal's designee will obtain written parental consent before any student is permitted to assist in caring for the animal.

Lykins Elementary Comfort Dog

Libby Lou

Meet Libby Lou

Hi friends,

My name is Libby Lou! I am a standard poodle and I was born May 19, 2024. My favorite place in the entire world is Lykins Elementary, especially when my mom let's run around the playground.  I can run super fast! I love when the students at Lykins earn their Bobcat Bucks to have recess with me.  I like to chase the ball and other toys and bring them back to you.  I also love snacks and don't mind eating yours but my mom will tell me no.  Kids like to visit me or I visit their classroom.  I like when kids read to me, pet me, give me a wink and a wave. My mom likes to tell people that I am a trajectory changer meaning I can make people feel better. One thing that everyone wants to know is where I sleep at night; I go to my mom's house, you call her Mrs. Hawkins.

Martin Elementary Comfort Dog

Roo

Meet Roo

Hi, I’m Roo Martin Norris, the OG Comfort Dog in Celina ISD and the proud Comfort Dog for Martin Elementary. I was born into the Martin family, the namesakes of the school, on April 8, 2023 and was adopted by my mom, the principal of Martin (Mrs. Norris), 6 weeks later. My mom enrolled me in school at What a Great Dog and we took a lot of training classes together.  I eventually earned my Canine Good Citizen Award. I LOVE being a Comfort Dog because I get and give so much love every single day. Kids read me books and I get lots and lots of goldfish crackers. My favorite things include small soft stuffies, nylabones, and playing with my sister-dog, Pepper.

O'Dell Elementary Comfort Dog

DOLLY

Meet Dolly

Hello! I’m Dolly, a proud Bernedoodle who just celebrated my 1st birthday—time really flies when you’re having fun! My days are a whirlwind of excitement and joy. I spend my time zipping through the bustling halls of O'Dell, where there’s always a new adventure around every corner. But the highlight of my day is when my human friends slip on their walking shoes and invite me for a stroll. Those moments are pure magic. Every walk is an opportunity for me to help one of my human friends calm down.  O'Dell has become my second home, and the people here feel like my second family. It’s a place where I’m loved and where every day is a new opportunity for fun and excitement!

BAEKER

Meet Baker

Hi! My name is Baker Linton. I am originally from Lubbock, Texas, but now I live with my family in Celina. I am a 1 year old mini goldendoodle. I have a Mom (she is my favorite person ever!) and a Dad, oh I can't forget my human brother (He is leaving me for middle school this year) and a dog sister! I love taking naps, getting belly rubs, toys and treats. Playing with my best friend Dolly is so fun! I started working at O'Dell last year and I couldn't imagine not being at school everyday with all of my friends. My favorite part of the school day is every morning I sit in the front of the school and my friends come by to say good morning and give me pets. I love walking in the halls and seeing all my friends get so excited to say hi to me. Sometimes school days can be tough and I need to give a listening ear to a friend or just be there by their side. I'm a pretty good listener. I love my school days so much and I can't wait for year two!

Moore Middle School Comfort Dog

Snow Moore Middle School Comfort Dog

Meet Snow

Meet Snow, the fluffiest member of Moore Middle School!

Snow is our lovable, two-year-old comfort dog—and he’s paws-itively amazing!

You’ll usually find him hanging out in the counselor’s office, spreading smiles and tail wags. Snow lives for coming to school every day. Whether you're having a rough morning or just need a furry friend, he somehow always knows who needs a little extra love.

In the mornings, he’s the first to greet you at the door, and during Bobcat Hour, he’s on patrol making sure everyone's feeling their best. And when he’s off duty? You can bet he’s zooming down the halls, sliding around corners, and chasing his favorite ball with all his school friends.

Snow isn’t just our comfort dog—he’s a whole vibe.
