Sallye Norris

During the Celina Independent School District’s monthly School Board meeting, the district announced that Sallye Norris will serve as Elementary #3 principal. Elementary #3 will open for the 2023-24 school year.

Prior to the Board naming Norris, she served in Frisco ISD as the assistant principal for Taylor Elementary School. While serving as the assistant principal, Norris was named the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association Region 10 Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year for the 2019-2020 school year. She has served as an assistant principal since 2016.

Before arriving in Frisco ISD, Norris served as an instructional coach in McKinney ISD where she was responsible for designing and implementing professional development resulting in effective teaching in classrooms. Additionally, she developed a new teacher mentor program providing specialized support for first-year teachers. This program increased teacher retention across the district. With a strong background in the teaching profession at the elementary level, she also has a solid foundation in fine arts.

Before joining the teaching profession, Norris was the director of children’s ministries at Lakewood United Methodist Church in Houston for four years. She earned her Bachelor and Master of Art from Austin College.

Dr. Tom Maglisceau, superintendent of schools, said, “Sallye has an extensive wealth of knowledge in bringing teachers together to design high quality instruction that meets the needs of all our learners. Her passion for children is contagious and we are excited she will be part of the Bobcat family.”
