Dear Lykins Elementary Parents,

Despite our efforts to mitigate the spread, the campus is continuing to experience a rise of COVID-19 cases. As such, we have great concern for the health and safety of all students and staff at Lykins Elementary School. Beginning Monday, January 25th, Lykins Elementary will move to all-virtual instruction through Friday, January 29th. Students will return to in-person learning on Monday, February 1st.

As the week developed, more cases were being brought to our attention. Lykins staff will work to send devices home with students today, and staff will be available to hand out electronic devices at the front of the school during normal drop-off and pick-up times on Monday for students who still need these resources at home. Your child’s homeroom teacher will communicate the links for virtual learning via email.

Please know that this decision was made with the best interests of the students and staff in mind and to ultimately ensure the continuation of a quality education for all students. The health and safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, and we are committed to honoring our community’s interest in providing as normal a school experience as possible for our students.

For those needing food services, pickup will be available for breakfast at 8:00 a.m.and lunch at 11:00 a.m in front of the building. For additional information, please contact CISD Director of Food Services Ofelia Almendarez at 469-742-9100 x1109. Students in need of technology resources or who are experiencing difficulty accessing online learning are asked to submit a ticket by clicking here.
