Transportation Department Procedures For Staff  

1. Transportation Request Procedures

  • Fill out the Transportation Request Form completely; incomplete forms will not be processed.  In the event that you need assistance in completing the Transportation Request Form, please contact Mallory Nelson at ext. 2386
  • Requests should be submitted 14 days prior to the trip date allowing adequate time for scheduling.  This includes all Celina ISD vehicles (Suburbans, Vans, Buses, etc.)
  • Requests will not be accepted without proper approval.

    After you submit the form, this will be sent directly to Mallory who will then forward the document back to you along with the principal at your campus. Before the trip can be scheduled, the Transportation Dept. will wait for approval from your principal.

  • If the trip is not a competition, performance, required training, etc., the Transportation Dept. may also need to know which account or fund will be paying for the trip. Cost for buses is 60 cents per mile, plus driver pay, and cost for suburbans is 20 cents per mile.
  • Submission of the Transportation Request Form is not a guarantee that you will secure a vehicle as vehicles are scheduled on a first come/first serve basis, with first priority given to student transportation.
  • Trip cancelations also need to be sent to Transportation via email or call Mallory Nelson at ext. 2386.

     

2. Driver Paperwork & Keys

  • Any teacher/coach/driver (excluding maintenance) that drives any Celina ISD vehicle at any time must properly complete a trip ticket.   Properly completed paperwork includes: driver’s name, Vehicle #, Starting Odometer, Ending Odometer, and the total miles.  It is imperative that you properly complete your trip paperwork to ensure accuracy of TEA State Transportation reports and guarantee our state funding.
  • If you are driving, you must complete a Daily Inspection Report prior to leaving in any Celina ISD school bus.  If you have any questions regarding the Daily Inspection form, please contact Dean Campbell at ext. 2308.
  • All paperwork needs to be picked up at the Transportation Department prior to leaving on your trip.  If you would like to pick up your paperwork and/or vehicle earlier than the time that you indicated on the request, you must contact the Transportation Department via phone or email for approval to do so.
  • Keys and trip ticket must be picked up at the Transportation Department during normal business hours, which are Monday through Friday from 5:30am until 5:00pm.  Keys must be returned to the Transportation Department immediately following your trip, unless other arrangements have been made with Jerry Moore.  If the office is closed, there is a drop box located on the east side of the building where you can place your keys and trip ticket.
